For an ultra-low budget debut feature film directed by a WIDC alumna, the Advantage Award offers a spot at WIDC Story & Leadership, a 1-year mentorship for the director and WIDC's nomination to Telefilm Canada's Talent to Watch production program. Submission Deadline – WIDC Career Advancement Module (spring / summer 2025)

Up to 8 director participants attend an intensive, tailored masterclasses and roundtables for mid-career women and non-binary filmmakers focusing on career advancement and scripted content development. For this specially designed module that dovetails with partnering Canadian Film Festivals, director participants are selected by a WIDC alumni peer jury along with representatives from host festivals. DEADLINE: January 15, 2025 PROGRAM DATES: March 1 to September 30, 2025 First week - intensive Followed by once per week sessions for total 6 months.
