About

Latonia Hartery is a writer, director, and producer from Milltown, NL who lives in St. John’s. She is an experienced documentary filmmaker who has written and directed CBC Land and Sea episodes (e.g. Rum Running, Last Sardine Outpost), as well as production managed and line produced 6 other shows for that series. She has also directed for longer form TV documentaries, such as the hit series Keeping Canada Alive. Her production skills were honed on CBC’s DocZones, where she worked with teams on location from Hong Kong to London, Paris, Geneva, and New York. Counterfeit Culture, for example, aired January 2013 and was the recipient of the International One World Award. Latonia has written and directed several short films, such as the award winning Sadie, as well as Escape Routes and Wind Money. She has also recently produced the RBC Michelle Jackson Award winning film Crocuses (2016). She is currently producing her first feature.
