Jude Klassen is a filmmaker, comedic songstress, and fiction and TV writer. Her short fiction has been published in the late great Canadian Forum, awarded a Canada Council Explorations grant, and been short-listed for The Writer’s Union Award, Toronto Life Summer Fiction; and This Magazine’s Great Canadian Literary Hunt. Klassen has been a hired gun for TCN, writing for Canuck comedians including: Leslie Nielsen, Jessica Holmes, and a naked, wall-eyed 30 year-old cartoon character named Mr. Dink. She wrote the Bravofact short, Do Not Bend, starring Anna Silk that was widely screened on the festival circuit (Chicago Reeling Fest, Toronto Inside Out, Cinefest Sudbury, and many more). Her alter ego, Tasha James wrote love songs to Rob Ford and Big Oil that were covered extensively in the press (Globe and Mail, the Toronto Star, Blog TO, Xtra, CTV’s W5, Toronto Life and the Huffington Post) and collectively garnered over 300,000 YouTube hits.

Klassen’s debut feature film, Love in the Sixth had its world premiere at the Whistler Film Festival and its U.S. premiere at Chicago Movies and Music Festival (CIMMFEST). She recently completed her second feature, Stupid for You! which she developed through WIDC Story & Leadership.
