About

Heather Lynn Rumancik is a prairie transplant to Toronto via St. John’s, Newfoundland. She is a graduate of Memorial University’s Performance & Communications Media program. In 2014, she directed the short documentary Reviving the Reid Theatre, which screened at the St John’s International Women’s Film Festival. She also co-developed video/blog project Archived Alive! from the MUN Archives Performing Arts collection. Heather was thrilled to be selected to be among five women directors to create an interactive documentary project through the St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival where she was mentored through the CAM. When in NL, she can be found working in community theatre, such as the Shakespeare by the Sea Festival (where she palyed Miss Anne in Curious Case in the Colony: A Sherlock Holmes Adventure). Having worked on CBC’s Republic of Doyle or on many of NIFCO’s First Time Filmmaker projects, she is exploring the lighting/grip department on films sets in Toronto.
