With a bachelor’s degree in psychology, Geneviève Poulette began studies at the National Institute for Image and Sound (INIS).

Jingle (2001), winner of the Silence on the FFM Audience Award, as well as being selected in official competition at several international festivals (Toronto, Los Angeles, Namur, etc.). She was awarded a scholarship by the Claude Jutra Foundation and went to Mexico City in 2002 to write and direct the documentary El mago del Coyoàcan. She continued her training in January 2003 with the workshop Women In the Director’s Chair (Banff). In 2004, she directed her second short film, Kafarnaüm, presented at several international festivals, and acquired by Radio-Canada. Then, in 2006, she made her third short film, Meet-market.ca, which is also selected at several international festivals, in addition to winning gold at WorldFest Houston, and being sold on TV channels international. In 2010, Joël Melançon and she created a new short film Blanc en neige, presented at various festivals throughout the world, and distributed by Traveling Distribution. She is currently collaborating on the film adaptation of the plays D pour Dieu? and How I Became a Muslim, in addition to writing the feature film Who Goes Hunting …

She has also directed a number of series for television, including the mini-series Trajectoires for the TFO channel, as well as episodes from the documentary series Un tueur si proche IV, V, VII et VIII and Victims II . In 2013, she took up the challenge of launching the new series of documentaries Fugitives on Canal D. For her success, the series was re-run for a second season and won a nomination for the Prix Gémeaux 2016. A third season will be broadcast on Canal D in 2018.

Geneviève is currently working on the development of two fiction series, Réclusion and De passage. She also sat on the Board of Directors of Cinema, Television and New Media (FCTNM) from 2009 to 2011. Finally, she continues to perfect her art by following various training courses, both in screenplay, production and distribution.
