About

Eva Colmers is an award-winning filmmaker who has written, directed and produced 15 films in the dramatic, documentary and experimental genre including the soon to be released Happy Birthday, Mango!, 2.57k, Granny Baby, The Weightless Traveller, Luz and End of the Rope. She has also written and directed three documentaries for the National Film Board of Canada: We Regret to Inform You…, The Elder Project and The Enemy Within. Presently, Eva is in post-production for a documentary for BravoFACTUAL and Bell Media and is working on her feature script.

Her films have been invited to screen at many prestigious festivals around the world and on television and she has received several awards for her accomplishments. Eva is a proud alumna of WIDC 2011, CAM 2016, Berlin Screenwriting, Canadian Screen Training Centre and the Banff Centre for the Arts. Her work has been supported by municipal, provincial and national arts organizations as well as the professional media industry.

With a background in theatre, Eva also creates visual background for theatre-, dance- and music performances and enjoys collaborating with artists from different fields. She is strongly involved with her arts community. She teaches workshops through her film co-op FAVA in Edmonton as well as CSIF in Calgary and frequently mentors emerging filmmakers.
