About

Cjay Boisclair, born a first generation Canadian, has never been much for the ordinary. From the time she could walk and talk, creativity pumped through her veins. As a child she would sing when expected to talk, read when expected to sleep, and create when expected to be still. Adulthood found Cjay venturing into various positions including roofing, floor-laying, and renovations; office work; tech support; woodworking; photography; house and auto painting; modelling; and as an Outreach Worker for the vulnerable in her community. Passionate about the Arts and learning new skills, she had her first taste of the film Industry as a background performer for Power Rangers. She was bitten.

She wrote and directed the short film The Bench. After partnering with up and coming cinematographer, Nolan McAllister, they created the Twin Rivers Filmmakers Society to promote film-making in their hometown of Kamloops BC. Finally finding her calling as a director/writer, Cjay supports others’ visions while creating her own using the skills she has acquired to create interesting and compelling films. She has a passionate drive for the industry, currently developing a feature script, web-series, and locally made shorts.

She is the winner of the WIDC Short Works Award: Kamloops edition presented by TELUS STORYHIVE for her romantic meet-cute, Stood Up starring Jason Burkart, Rekha Sharma, Tracey Power and newcomer, Aubrey Fix. Stood Up played at over 70 festivals world-wide and earned 21 awards and 45 nominations.
