About

Alexandra is a Director & Writer based in Vancouver on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

They have been awarded The Geena Davis Institute Mentorship and was a runner-up in the Women in Film & Television From Our Dark Side Genre Pitch Contest. They’ve attended the National Screen Institute and the Whistler Film Festival’s Talent Labs. In 2021, they attended the WIDC Story & Leadership program.

Their short film DEAR DEPARTED started its festival run in late 2021.

They have also produced several films award-winning short films which have screened at festivals in North America, Europe, & Asia, including the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival, Vancouver International Film Festival, and winning the Judge’s Award at the Northwest Filmmakers’ Festival.

With Screen Siren Pictures, they are currently completing their feature film WHAT COMES NEXT which they developed at WIDC Story & Leadership.  Other credits include the Lifetime Television Movies The Podcast Murders (2022), Sins in the Family (2023), and the short films Me + Her (2024).

Embracing a passion for “telling stories that make people feel less alone,” Alex is known for their work on character-driven films portraying complex female and non-binary protagonists.
