SUCK IT UP is produced by Marc Tetreault and Jason Levangie of Shut Up & Colour Pictures with Carol Whiteman, Sandra Quinn, Hoff, Carter and Glowicki as executive producers.
SUCK IT UP is a female-driven comedic drama about loss, grief and the tenacity of friendship. Ronnie (Glowicki) and Faye (Carter) have been best friends forever. Ronnie’s brother- and Faye’s first love – Garrett has just died of cancer forcing both women to redefine their lives without him. For Ronnie, this means an epic drinking spree. For Faye, this means taking care of Ronnie.
Joining the principal cast are Dan Beirne (Fargo, Season 2) and Michael Rowe (Arrow) as Granville and Dale and Toby Marks (Hourglass) as Alex.
The beautiful Invermere, B.C., deep in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, is the film’s location.
Says Canning, “I’ve been so inspired working here in the Rockies. The landscape and the mountains play such a crucial part in the story. The town of Invermere and the surrounding communities of the Columbia Valley have been so incredibly generous and kind to us.”
SUCK IT UP was awarded the Women In the Director’s Chair (WIDC) Feature Film Award, secured a broadcast license from Bell Media and significant private investments from The Harold Greenberg Fund and numerous others. The film is seeking sales and distribution representation throughout the world, and will be broadcast on The Movie Network in Canada.
