Tara Hungerford is the co-creator and series director of CBC Kids’ SCOUT AND THE GUMBOOT KIDS. Her other television credits include the W Network’s series THE SHOPPING BAGS (season VI & VII), MAKING IT BIG (Slice TV- season 2) produced by Force Four Entertainment, and 2nd unit for the CTV comedy series ROBSON ARMS (season 2) produced by Omni Film. She was also a series director on THE WEEK THE WOMEN WENT, a CBC series produced by Paperny Films.

She’s directed music videos for artists including Jessie Farrell, Jim Byrnes, Zubot & Dawson, Distance & Kyle, Emily Jordan, and The Paperboys. The video for Juno Award Winner Jim Byrnes single Just a Pilgrim won Best Music Video of the Year at the Canadian Spotlight Awards 2007 and four of her music videos have been Leo Award Nominees for Best Music Video of the Year. She recently directed a CMT video for the band Ambush.

Her award-winning short films BREAK A LEG ROSIE, MON AMOUR MON PARALUIE and WEARING THE UNKNOWN have been screened at over 40 international film festivals, on Bravo! TV, TV5 and CBC Television.

Hungerford’s commercial, PSA and corporate work includes projects for The Canadian Red Cross, The BC Dental Association (ActNow), Storyeum, Omron, Vancouver Park Board, and ICBC & The Autoplan Brokers.

She has been nominated for 8 Leo Awards and in 2006 she won the Kodak Image Award for her short film and music video achievements at WIFVV Spotlight Awards. In 2007 Hungerford was one of eight participants selected from across Canada for the Telefilm Canada, DGC, BC Film and UBCP sponsored Women In the Director’s Chair 2007 program.
